Pop-up store “Water-Shed”, Nottingham

A colourful open greenhouse turns a busy station concourse into an oasis – for reusable water bottles.

Project timeline

  1. The brief

Planning a pop-up store at Nottingham railway station for reusable water bottles with a built-in carbon filter. The store had to catch the eye, be easy to access and meet all safety requirements.

  2. Site and audience analysis

Where do people walk, where do they wait, where is there space? The location and the routes through the concourse determine where the store is visible without getting in anyone’s way.

  3. Branding

A dedicated logo and brand concept was created for the store, combining water, nature and movement.

  4. Concept & mood boards

Plants, a fountain, soft light from paper lanterns and long benches: the mood boards define atmosphere, materials and furniture.

  5. Design

A colourful open greenhouse turns the concourse into an oasis of calm: large paper lanterns give soft light, plants and a gently splashing fountain create atmosphere, and long benches invite people to linger and explore.
